Visit Kenner and the City of Kenner are excited to announce the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall, which will take place May 17-19, 2024 at Kenner’s Veterans Park.
This tribute aims to present the Traveling Vietnam Wall and Cost of Freedom Tribute, fostering honor, respect, and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It also seeks to educate present and future generations of Americans about our historical past.
This exhibit will be open to the public on Friday, May 17, 2024, with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. It is viewable at all hours, until its closing on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
The AVTT Traveling Vietnam Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., bearing the names of 58,307 U.S. soldiers who perished during the Vietnam War. Additionally, AVTT will present the Cost of Freedom Tribute, featuring smaller panels commemorating American sacrifices across conflicts spanning the 20th and 21st centuries, encompassing WWI, WWII, 9-11, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
